Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore for This Lunar New Year

This Lunar New Year, Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS) plans to focus on bringing out the essence of local culture and sharing the love and care to the broader community. APBS will be running various activities over this season which will tie back to the aim of engaging Singaporeans with a truly local Chinese New Year celebration. These activities will be sure to foster the community by including everyone, even the less fortunate.

Once again, APBS will run its highly successful Cookies for Charity fundraising event through the sale of almond cookies in support of the Meal & Grocery Programme. The Meal & Grocery Programme, first created in 2007 by Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng constituency, ensures that the needy elderly living in the constituency are able to eat more regular and nutritious meals. The cookies come in boxes of eight at $10 each, available for purchase at the Chinatown Pavilion at Banda Street from January 19 to February 9, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The highlight is that this year, for the first time, APBS worked with Irene Ang and Rosslyn Lee to promote this programme. Both celebrities made a special guest appearance on January 26 to interact with members of the public and help with the sale of the almond cookies.

Collectible Crown Liners

Tiger Beer limited edition Chinese New Year pint bottles.

A few well known beer names are rewarding consumers through a little “treasure hunt” of sorts; you have to search for the right crown liners that will entitle you to redeem certain offers.

Tiger Beer’s limited edition Chinese New Year pint bottles are redeemable by buyers who submit Tiger Beer crown liners bearing the shape of a bottle, while stocks last. ABC Extra Stout too, will be running a promotion at all participating coffee shops and diner outlets. Consumers will enjoy $1 off from their next purchase with every two ABC Extra Stout crown liners featuring the ABC logo, while stocks last. Meanwhile, collect Guinness Foreign Extra Stout bottle crown liners bearing the harp logo at participating coffee shops and diner outlets to receive a gift voucher to Fragrance Foodstuff Pte Ltd. The voucher entitles you to redeem 350g of various flavours of bak kwa or meat floss.

Road Shows

On top of those fabulous offers, Tiger Beer and ABC Extra Stout will also be meeting the public through road shows around Singapore. Tiger beer will be going around coffee shops and hawkers centres from January 9, featuring opportunities for consumers to participate in “Grab the Cash” contests. From the same day, ABC Extra Stout will also feature Lion Dance performances for consumers and members of the public at selected road shows. The special performances will be brought to you by the Wei Jin Dragon & Lion Dance Association (Singapore), winner of the 2012 ABC Extra Stout Lion Dance Festival.

With so much worth of prizes up for grabs, celebrating the Chinese New Year with a couple of good old beers will be so much fun.
