Restaurant week is a bi-annual event that involves the creme de la of the restaurant sphere in Singapore coming together to offer great value-set menus with uncompromising service to the eager food fanatics of the nation. Being food enthusiasts on a very personal level, BeWicked was invited for a short introduction of the restaurant week, and to tell us about all there is to come for the restaurant week.
Restaurant Week had its humble beginning in a promiseland known as Amsterdam, for which rave reviews were received. Striking while the iron is hot is the best remedy for fame they say, or for anything popular. Diningcity.com then organized Restaurant week, within the same year (2007), at five different cities within the Netherlands. Soon thereafter, the phenomenon of restaurant-ing had gone global, with the Restaurant Week sweeping countries such as Rome, Shanghai, and of course, Singapore.
Working on this project closely with organizer Diningcity.com/singapore is American Express and BMW.
In Singapore, Bistro Du Vin, Boathouse, Buyan, Esmirada at Orchard, Gattopardo, La Cicala, Oenotheque, Praelum, The Song Of India, Shiraz, Taratata Bistro and Tamarind Hill are some of the few restaurants that have actively taken part in this fast growing food phenomenon.
The Singapore Restaurant Week is taking place now, and will end on the 14th of October 2012. Make your booking www.restaurantweek.sg.
